A heartfelt thank you!

When I considered starting a blog I wondered what on earth I could possibly bring to the table that wasn't already so thoroughly and captivatingly covered. Other than myself. As many of you would know, starting a blog is a very exciting and overwhelming undertaking. Will anyone like it? Will anyone read it? Will I find something original and inspiring to say? Thankfully, after only a few short weeks I can resoundingly say,  yes!

It is such a joyful and rewarding experience creating a blog and even more so knowing that there are wonderful and encouraging people out there, some with their own blogs, but many without, who are happy to embrace the newcomers to the blogworld and provide encouragement, advice and support.

So my first public thank you is to talented artist and blogger Kerri, from Driftwood Interiors, who so kindly and generously posted about my blog today, here. Kerri has been a great source of support, encouragement and advice from the moment I made contact, and having been a follower of hers for some time, it is a great thrill to receive this level of heartfelt support. Viera from VT Interiors has also been a most gracious mentor.

I'm a mum of very young children, which is often very isolating and lonely. I often miss my work and career and the creative outlet it once provided, and the rewards and interactions that come with a fulfilling career. So having a blog that provides some form of creative expression and a form of outreach to other kindred spirits has been a Godsend.

Thanks also go to those of you who have taken the time to comment on my blog. We are so time poor, and there are so many blogs to read and comment on, so your input is greatly appreciated. I'm still trying to find the time to master all this, between bathing my little ones, reading them a story, not neglecting husband, remembering to feed the dog (and the children). It's very easy to get completely absorbed by the whole process and be sucked into this virtual world, but the rewards so far are amazing.

So, after a rainy and cold long weekend, I found some inspiration in my parents' beautiful home, which I am lucky enough to be able to visit regularly, and which I thought I'd share with you today. It's such a glorious, restful and uplifting place, at any time of the year.

I hope you don't mind my indulgence of so many photos - I found it hard to edit them. You can certainly see where designers get their inspiration from. Mother Nature's bounty provides endless inspiration.
