Laundry Inspiration - Hello friends Home Improvement, On this occasion I will discuss the article entitled Laundry Inspiration, I have provided various other latest articles. hopefully the article that I wrote is useful for you all..
Thank you to all my lovely ladies for your insightful and helpful comments about the kitchen sink. You have all made worthwhile and useful comments and I have checked out all your recommendations. More food for thought......confusion reigns!
I have been getting quotes for the kitchen during the week, and in that process have started to think about the laundry. This is usually a room that is put at the bottom of the decorating heap, but I thought about it today when one of my readers, KJane (thanks for the tip re Sheldons Kitchen by the way), asked me to do a "Laundry Post", to see what I was planning on doing. That got me thinking. What was I planning on doing? The laundry was so far down the list of priorities, but then again it is very much a part of the house and a room I will be using daily. So why not make it fabulous as well?
So I went to Pinterest for some inspiration and found some great ideas which were along the lines of what I was thinking. White, aqua, chrome, simple, clean, fresh and practical. Here's what I found.

In keeping with the theme of taps I want to get for the rest of the bathrooms and kitchen, this is a great laundry appropriate mixer.
Now, regarding taps. I have my eye on a number of beautiful styles. I would love to be able to afford the Nicolazzi or Perrin & Rowe taps that I've been admiring for years, but sadly that's currently out of the budget. Then I found a series of Australian imitations, Brodware and Astra Walker, which are lovely but still about $500 per tap. Then one of my readers, Tracey, suggested Overstock. Now they have an amazing range of stunning taps for kitchen and bathroom and at the most ridiculous prices, but when I mentioned this to the plumber today he was nervous about the US taps not complying to Australian standards and the difference in thread size, pressure etc.
I asked Tracey and she had no problem with her plumber converting taps she bought o/s, so I am somewhat reassured, but has anybody else bought taps from the US and had them converted to Australian plumbing standards? I have spent hours on the internet trying to find what those standards are, but without coughing up money to download the documents, it's hard to get an idea. I'm happy to wing it (the cost of three taps sets from Overstock is the same as one tap set in Australia), but just don't want to come up against an obstacle with our Certifier when it comes time to sign off on the completed renovation.
Here's some of the amazing styles I saw on Overstock. It's almost worth the risk because they are so fabulous and so cheap.

So it's all moving along. The pool progress has slowed because we have had the most awful weather in Sydney, but at least I don't have to go and water down the concrete twice a day. Small mercies!
The plumber started fitting out all the plumbing for the bathrooms and laundry today, which is exciting, but the pressure is on more than ever to finalise my decisions. To think I had about a year to make these decisions, and now I'm leaving it to the last minute to decide!
