So I reckon I am doing my bit to revive the US economy, singehandedly pouring a small fortune into the coffers. Hoping that NYC roads may be able to afford some improvements for my next visit based on what I've contributed today!

Set off to Restoration Hardware, the only one in the city. What are they thinking? This whole industrial Belgian look has gone too far and is a bit ridiculous. Such a specific theme and look,and so narrow a market that I would be amazed if lasts. Store is so dark you cant see anything and full of busy sales folk frantically working on their ipads and computers at desks around the store. May get some pulls and handles in LA on way home.But not much else.....

Thanks to Sarah from Winton house who mentioned American Girl. This is a doll shop beyond words. Hadnt heard of it before but I was blown away - what an experience and sheer heaven for little girls. Got a few things for Poppy. Nothing like some good old fashioned gender stereotyping and programming! See FB pics.

Did one touristy thing, went up Rockefeller Centre for view. Spectacular as ever. Then down to ABC carpet and Home, whizzed around, not much I wanted. Next down to Soho and did plenty of damage at clothing store Club Monaco, owned by Ralph Lauren co. Great classic chic clothes with an edge. Bought three pairs of ballet flats at some random store then home so tired. Took a short break before heading off to upper west side for more homewares shopping at Pottery
Barn and Gracious Home. What a find this is? Couldn't decide between so many lovely sheets, see Facebook pics. Spoilt for choice here. Just floor upon floor of great basic everyday homewares of every kind. Need a freight forwarder for sure.

Had nice Jap dinner and polished off bottle of sake on way home. Felt quite tipsy. Glad to be able to text and look busy while solo dining, so I don't feel like such a knob in busy bustling NY.

Last day tomorrow so have lot to do including trying to get back to gift fair.Seen so many great products and ideas.

Feeling very inspired and motivated and can't wait to start following up opportunities.
