Kids' Party Inspiration

I have been completely sidetracked by our renovation and getting ready to go away on Friday. So I've been very slack about posting, and as we haven't had much progress on the house, I haven't really had much to report. I'm hoping things will progress further while I'm away, although a bit nervous about not being around to supervise, but the electrician should be underway tomorrow and the decks and plasterboard going on next week.

The vanity arrived safely from Melbourne, which was a relief. It weighs a hefty 100kg and looks great, from what I can see through the crate and excessive packaging. I am still trying to negotiate with the builders how to obtain the kind of lovely decorative fencing I posted about last week, although he has lots of reservations. Again, I will persevere with my determination to get what I want and find a way around the hardship!

I'm very excited about my trip to the US, although very anxious at the same time. Feeling huge pangs of guilt about leaving the kids and being so far away. When I think about it I start to have mild anxiety attacks and hyperventilate, so best just to concentrate on all the lovely things I'm going to see and buy, and have complete confidence in my wonderful and long-suffering husband who is allowing me to go.

In the meantime, I've also been giving thought to the two birthday parties I will be planning when I get back. The kids' birthdays are about a week apart, so that makes for a pretty frantic week in September. Charlie is determine to go with a Dora/Diego theme, although I'm yet to see Amy Atlas do a dessert table that features any kind of merchandise/theme, so I'm guessing it's hard to make it too kiddy chic! Poppy won't know much better (turning 2) so I may have to downsize her party decorations, although Charlie insists she must have a princess party.

In my search for inspiration I can't go past our very own Australian Tracey Lau, who is the most uber-talented person. She is a stunning photographer, crafter, stylist, cake maker, and everything in between. So whilst there is the incomparable Amy Atlas, we have Tracey. Here's some of her images that I'm sure you'll agree are sublime. I'm a bit of a jack of all trades, but believe me Tracey is the master. I wish I could be so talented!

I will attempt to post before I leave with some last minute inspiration and then hopefully manage to keep you updated while I am away.
