Last frantic day in NY and off to LA

Up early and headed off to the gift fair after a quick coffee and eggs at Le Pain Quotidien. Expected to spend a few hours at fair but ended up staying until after 4pm, so much to see and it is so vast. About five times size of Sydney fair. Found so many great things and collected about 5kg of catalogues, brochures etc. So excited about the countless opportunities here. Can't wait to explore when I get back. See photos on FB page of my fave picks. Then ran into the lovely girls Cynthia and Carolyn from Diane James Home who I met on Sunday with Matt. Back into town and back up to w66th st to Gracious Home to make my selections of sheets for the bedrooms at home. Matouk sheets are so divine as are Sferra, Lulu DK and so many others. See my choices on FB. Deliberated for hours then finally narrowed it down. So much I desperately wanted in this expansive store but had to leave behind. Dinner in hotel and packed for departure next day. Very nervous about luggage limit but turned out I was under, with room to shop in LA. Bit of a drama with credit card trying to buy sheets which I will tell you about on my return.

Plane to New York and slept most of the way, sheer exhaustion. Arrived at Chamberlain Hotel West Hollywood Thursday night. Great hotel, terrific location, very boutique, chic decor, fab rooms, amazing pool deck. See photos on FB. Lots of Aussies here too. Had dinner with old friend of Tom's at great local restaurant. Stunning decor. Nice to have some company for dinner.

Friday headed off down La Cienega Blvd and around the Design Quarter. Nearly reduced to tears and had palpitations at a number of places. The retail here is beyond description. Such heavenly interiors shops, with beautifully appointed exteriors, and just breathtaking inside. Don't know where to begin describing it all, so just see photos. Again walked miles.

Ended up to The Grove, shoppers paradise, charming and wonderful. Did some serious damage here. Abercrombie and Fitch store has to be seen to be believed. Had photo taken with gorgeous model. Will show photo when I get home. Had to return to hotel at 7pm as shopping bags too heavy. Spoke to husband and kids on Skype, miss them. Dinner on Sunset strip and now to bed. Last day tomorrow. So much yet to see . Wish I had a week here at least.
