House update - Week Fourteen - Hello friends Home Improvement, On this occasion I will discuss the article entitled House update - Week Fourteen, I have provided various other latest articles. hopefully the article that I wrote is useful for you all..
Things are looking great at the house. The tiler is doing a wonderful job of the bathrooms and laundry, although I did have a moment of hesitation with my basketweave in the ensuite when I saw the lovely polished marble tiles go down in the kids' bathroom and powder room. Absolutely love the subway tiles, and the fact they are so cheap makes them even more loveable.
The V-joint has gone up on the ceiling, and the architraves are going on. I decided to splash out and replace all the doors upstairs and down with nice, solid timber, panelled doors, which cost a fortune but I think will be worth it. We had nasty flat hollow core doors with high handles before. I have also gone against my husband's wishes and am going to replace all the bulllnose skirtings and archs upstairs to match the new 6" skirt and 4" arch downstairs. It may not be something everybody notices, but I think it impacts the overall look, quality and feel of the house. Details details!
They have finally knocked down the garage in the back yard, so now we are rid of all old structures. Boy it feels like a football pitch out there. I'm so pleased with how much space we now have.

So finding the right lights is driving me to distraction. I can't find anything I want in Australia that is affordable. Exterior lights are causing me the most grief. You go to lighting shops and they have a whole wall of exterior lights, so you pick one, and then they tell you it can only be used under cover and can't get wet. Well, then that's not an exterior light if you ask me! Then they advise you not to get stainless steel because it will tea-stain, and don't get plastic because it will crack and don't get anything Chinese because it won't last, and don't get this or that - and you end up with about two to choose from, when you started out looking at a wall of about fifty so called exterior lights. What the hell is going on?
I really want so many lights I've seen in the US and shipping isn't my worry, it's converting them that concerns me. But I'm determined to get around that. I just don't want to buy a light that's going to conk out if it gets wet or rusts or falls apart. Anybody have any advice or experience in this? My electrician hasn't shed much light on the subject.
So if you don't want modern lights, but don't want Federation, there's no much to choose from. Here's the closest thing I can find without spending $1000 per light.....
Depressing hey? Anyone got any lighting shops online or other?
