Dining Room Fabrics

Popped into Coco Republic for a bit of inspiration yesterday and found some in the form of fabrics for the living room. Am still on a mission to do a bit of pretty and a touch of traditional, and the navy blues are being moved to the library which we only use at night.

I have decided that the all white living/entry is causing me decorator's distress, and I need some colour desperately. It just is a bit too plain and sterile and I want to soften the room with some colour and lightness. The kitchen is currently painted in Dulux Spanish Olive, which goes with this fabric quite well, although the perfect match is Benjamin Moore's Palladian Blue.

I ordered this gorgeous fabric from Kravet called Chatelet which I saw on a blog some months ago, and is now discontinued. I think I got the last 4m in the world. Phew. Now I'm trying to build my story around it.

I am having the kitchen roman blind made up in this fabric and will have some cushions made with the remainder. The image below is where I fell in love with this fabric. It has all my favourite colours combined in the prettiest chinoiserie illustration.

Love this fabric from Romo called Stratton stripe in Alpine and thinking of something like this as a complementary fabric for seat cushion covers for the ladderback dining chairs. I just need to find a pretty geometric or something a bit modern and graphic to keep it current.

Another smart Romo stripe with all the right colours called Morbury in Alpine.

I have always wanted to have some velvet with nailhead trim on chairs somewhere in the house, and this caught my eye. I'm thinking of having two like this for either end of the dining table for a bit of glam and to contrast with the simple ladderback dining chairs.

I'll have to source a cheaper version and have it covered myself as these are over $1200 each.

The velvet is called Brussels in Wedgwood Blue by Elliott Clarke. Isn't it scrumptious!

Love this Ralph Lauren ceramic lamp.

I love this jellyfish print but particularly the bamboo frame.

I am having a couple of sofas recovered and definitely going to do a contrast piping like this, although in a pale aqua fabric.

How fab is this chair! Every room needs a touch of black and what better than some zebra. Tradition with a twist.

These dining chairs upholstered in a chevron fabric were very smart. And you can even have a matching surfboard if the fancy takes you.

It's my parent's 50th wedding anniversary this weekend, so I am now setting my mind on table decorations for tomorrow's celebration.

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy Mother's Day.
