Blogger and IPad driving me nuts! In New York!

So I have been trying to post since I got to New York two days ago and have taken so many great photos to show you and share all the wonderful things I am seeing, but trying to use blogger on an iPad is virtually impossible. They are completely incompatible. I have spent the past two hours sitting in the lobby bar, now on my third glass of wine,(ok no great sacrifice there) trying to work out how to upload my images. Firstly blogger won't let you write a post in compose mode, only HTML, then you can't just upload photos off your iPad which I had to email separately to a special blogger address which doesn't work either because it only comes up in HTML and won't preview either or let you upload to an iPad. So much for Apple making a super transportable and user friendly product - iPads are not at all user friendly and they are so limited in their functionality because they aren't compatible with anything else. I can't view half the websites I want to see because iPad won't let you download a flash player.

Anyway, I am having a blast. Walked about 50 km in two days and done just about every shop possible in Midtown and the Upper East Side. The homewares and design shops are out of this world! Excess baggage here we come!

Did the gift fair today with designer Matt Frederick, who is a lovely guy and was so generous of his time and was not just a huge help but a great source of inspiration, information, contacts and ideas. The gift fair was so gigantic and just went on forever, so it was great to be able to walk it with Matt who was able to cut through all the crap and get to the good stuff, introducing me to suppliers and pointing out things I wouldn't have noticed. I learnt so much watching and listening to him dealing with suppliers and ordering products, asking questions and making enquiries, it was really worthwhile, and so nice to have his company.


Will persevere trying to post photos. Maybe I will visit the 24 hr Apple store that is open just up the road opposite the Plaza Hotel for some advice!!
