Photos uploaded! Yeah!

Well it's about 5.30am here in NYC and I have been awake since 3am. Jet lag setting in and too much excitement! So I have managed to upload some photos onto Facebook of my first two days here and hope you enjoy them. The gift Fair was amazing, the sheer size of it overwhelming. Lucky I had Matt to show me around and introduce me to people. Huge learning curve and lots of fun!

Now trying to work out how to spend my next three days most effectively. No time for the Hamptons, too much to do here and it's pouring anyway. Perfect shopping weather.

Haven't found much in the way of clothes to buy which is very disappointing, although the dear old bird at Bloomingdales did sell me two pairs of sunnies. I must have been so desperate to spend some money I was an easy target. But I did get some lovely things for the kids at the Ralph Lauren store on Madison Ave. So cheap compared to Australia - $39 for a boys shirt vs $110. Absolutely breathtaking building and the new women's store opposite the original is four floors of sheer opulence and glamour. Lots of wealthy Russians spending up. All I could afford was the free glass of water when I made it to the top!

Found some gorgeous things at tile heaven Ann Sacks and over the road at Waterworks. I could have wept at the beauty of the stuff in there and the inability to get it to Australia without having to remortgage the house. Got some great buys at Crate and Barrel, basic but lovely kitchen/dining things. Heading off to Restoration Hardware for handles and lights next.

Must try for a few more hours or sleep or I won't last the distance.
