Make an entrance.

I have been trying to decide on something fabulous for the front door as the builder is wanting to secure the house and put the hardware on the doors. I had originally been tossing up between a wonderful black glossy door with nice big chunky chrome hardware, but then learned that because our door faces due west and has no real shelter to speak of, the black gloss paint tends not to last and can crack and go chalky. Has anyone else heard of this issue?

So I am now thinking hard about my second option, which is a lovely aqua door. We are painting the house external cladding grey with white trims, so think a pretty aqua door could look quite charming.

Anyway, I've been on the hunt for some fabulous door hardware. Of course, my first port of call for inspiration and guidance is always the US and that didn't disappoint. But now that I've found what I want there, I have to find a close second somewhere in Australia as shipping heavy iron hardware is not the most cost effective way. Why doesn't nobody send anything by sea anymore!!!!
